Chelsea are in the front seat to sign Isaac McGillvary as they aim to sign the Manchester City youth wonderkid on a six-year deal.

According to Football Insider, Isaac McGillvary is getting close to joining Chelsea from Manchester City. The U-14 England international is seen as a viable addition to their youth setup, as the Blues continue to build their younger teams with purpose.

Chelsea are busy in the transfer market to improve their first-team ranks, with a few key additions already through the door. The Blues are signing attack-heavy players to bolster their front line, as the addition of Joao Pedro signified while there are a few more in the pipeline.

They began the summer with the addition of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and have since also agreed a deal for Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. While they are still intending to bring another attacker following links to Mohammed Kudus, the Blues are also looking closely at the youth market.

Chelsea have been an aggressive player in the youth market in the time the new ownership took over. They have invested rather heavily in bringing talents that have a great upside for the future and that work might keep going in the foreseeable future.

They recently failed with a move for Genoa talent Honest Ahanor, but now, Chelsea are expected to succeed in the pursuit of Manchester City youth wonderkid Isaac McGillvary. The attacking midfielder, already a U-14 England international has been impressive with his displays for the Manchester City youth sides.

Chelsea to offer six-year deal

Chelsea are not only closing in on the signing of McGillvary, they are preparing a six-year contract for the U-14 youth international. They are optimistic about landing the attacking midfielder and help him develop into a future first-team star. The Blues have had a fantastic pitch for young talents and have more or less convinced many in the past to join them.

As for McGillvary, he might be close to making a decision on the switch based on the Chelsea youth system, which has produced some notable stars. Manchester City are not underdogs in that aspect, as they are probably the best academy compared to the last ten years or so. However, should McGillvary make the move, he will join the likes of Delap and Cole Palmer as former Manchester City academy stars.
