Aston Villa handed boost in their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are interested in acquiring the services of Dusan Vlahovic as they look to add more firepower to their attack. Unai Emery’s team have received a massive boost as Juventus are ready to sell for a discounted price.

Vlahovic made a name for himself at Fiorentina before joining the Old Lady at the start of 2022. The Turin-based outfit forked out a massive fee for the Serbian international. While he has done a decent job for them, the 25-year-old hasn’t been consistent enough. He hasn’t really lived up to the expectations.

Juventus are desperate to sell Vlahovic

With his contract running out in a year’s time and Juventus struggling financially, they are ready to sanction his departure. The Old Lady were initially looking for a fee close to €30 million to sell the Serbian striker. But since not many clubs are interested in his services, they have decided to slash the price down to just €15 million.

They have no intentions of losing out on him for free next season. With a new deal for him nowhere in the picture, they are ready to sell him for a bargain fee, as it would be a significant boost for their wage bill.

It will also help the Turin-based club focus on their efforts to keep Randal Kolo Muani at the club following his impressive loan spell. The funds raised could make it easier for them to strike a deal with PSG.

Aston Villa could benefit from the new price tag

While now many clubs are after Vlahovic’s signature, Aston Villa seem interested in him. Unai Emery is looking for a new striker following the return of Marcus Rashford to Manchester United. While they wanted to re-sign him, it looks very unlikely.

The Juventus striker could prove to be an ideal alternative. However, they haven’t followed up since making those initial contacts to learn more about a potential transfer. The reduced asking price could certainly help their cause, but it remains to be seen if they step up their interest in him.
