Arsenal expected to quickly seal Viktor Gyokeres move

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly expected to quickly wrap up the signing of Manchester United target Viktor Gyokeres.

Viktor Gyokeres’ future has been up in the air for a while now. He is keen on taking the next step in his career, and multiple top clubs from across Europe are after his signature. Arsenal and Manchester United are two Premier League giants who have been working on a potential transfer for months.

While United were hoping that having Ruben Amorim on their bench would work in their favour, they have failed to lure the Swedish international. According to a report from Caught Offside, the Sporting CP ace is all set to join Arsenal, who are confident about quickly sealing the move.

Gyokeres has been on fire since joining the Portuguese giants from Coventry City in the summer of 2023. In his 102 outings for Sporting, he has scored 97 goals and bagged a total of 28 assists. While he still has three years left on his deal, he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Arsenal to close Gyokeres’ signing in the near future

Sporting have been reluctant to sell, but they don’t really have any options to play with as he has refused to return to training ahead of next season. Arsenal and United are two clubs that have been working on a potential transfer since the start.

Ruben Amorim is on the lookout for a new striker to lead his line at Old Trafford. While he was hoping he could convince Gyokeres, the player has informed United chiefs that he prefers moving to North London.

Signing a new striker is a top priority for the Gunners, as they feel it could help them take a step closer to the league title. They believe the Swedish striker could bring an end to their goal-scoring struggles and have been favourites to sign him for around 40-45 days.

They already have the green light from the player and have been in talks with Sporting to find a solution. The report suggests, the talks are in an advanced stage and Arsenal are hoping to quickly wrap up the deal. Despite interest from other top clubs, Arteta’s team are in total control of the situation.
