Manchester United enter the race for Luis Suarez

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Almeria striker Luis Javier Suarez as the club continues to find the right centre-forward.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have added another name to their striker shortlist. This time, it is Almeria striker Luis Javier Suarez, who had a tremendous season in the Spanish second division with 27 goals and is rated at €25 million.

Manchester United have already suffered a few setbacks in their pursuit of a striker. First, it was Liam Delap, who snubbed their overtures to join Chelsea, while a few others have shown their back to the club for other alternatives in the market.

The club are eager to get rid of Rasmus Hojlund, and they will do so once they have a deal with a new striker finalised in the background. There’s still interest in Victor Osimhen, but the Nigerian could be on his way to Galatasaray as talks are underway with Napoli over a fee.

Ruben Amorim was keen on Viktor Gyokeres, although the Swede is now inches away from joining Arsenal in a huge deal. There are some fresh names in the mix, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was linked following his departure from Everton after his contract expired.

Ollie Watkins is another name in the mix, while Manchester United have added a new target to their shortlist. Almeria striker Luis Javier Suarez, rated at €25 million, could have emerged as a target for the Red Devils. The Colombian striker hit 27 goals for the Spanish second division side, although there might be a few reservations when it comes to playing at the highest levels.

Manchester United to sign Luis Javier Suarez?

There’s always the possibility of attracting the player towards the big leagues, and in Suarez’s case, he might consider the prospect of playing for Manchester United. However, Fabrizio Romano stated that Sporting CP have considered the €25 million-rated striker as a replacement for the outgoing Gyokeres.

While Manchester United might have a bigger pull than Sporting CP for the €25 million-rated striker, there will be considerable doubts whether they will even consider a move. The Colombian’s top-level experience has some question marks around him, while the price point will certainly push Manchester United back in this specific pursuit.
