Strasbourg lead the race to sign Mateo Del Blanco

RC Strasbourg Alsace are leading the race to sign Unión Santa Fe left-back Mateo Del Blanco (22), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

Del Blanco has played 20 times for Argentine side Unión Santa Fe this season. He is easily attainable due to a very low €2m release clause. Whilst Le Racing are leading the race, there are other European clubs in the race to sign the full-back.

He could become the first signing of what is lining up to be a busy summer at the Meinau. Emanuel Emegha’s exit has been confirmed already. The club captain will join Chelsea, and he may be joined by Valentin Barco, who has announced his impending departure on social media.

Further departures are expected. President Marc Keller has said that players who have been at the club for two seasons or more are the most susceptible to depart. One of those is Diego Moreira, who has played at left-back and another is Guéla Doué, who has also filled in in the position. Adding bodies in that sector of the pitch is, therefore, a priority for Strasbourg.
