Saudi Arabian clubs keen on signing Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz from Liverpool

Saudi Pro League clubs are plotting a raid on Premier League giants Liverpool for the signature of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could both make the move to the Middle East this summer, as Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are willing to break the bank to sign them.

Liverpool spent a fortune to sign Nunez from Benfica in the summer of 2022. While he was a regular under Jurgen Klopp, the 25-year-old struggled to meet expectations.

His Liverpool career has further declined under Arne Slot after failing to capitalise on the chances he received during Klopp’s tenure. The Dutch manager isn’t entirely pleased with his efforts and output. As a result, he has been on the pitch for less than 2,000 minutes in his 44 appearances this season.

Liverpool are ready to sell Nunez

While his contract at the Merseyside club runs until the summer of 2028, there has been a lot of talk about his future in recent months. The Reds are reportedly ready to cash in on him as Slot wants to bring in a world-class striker to replace him.

There are European clubs who are keen on his signature, but the Red value him at around €80 million, which is a massive hurdle for them. But he could still be on the move as Saudi Pro League clubs have a long-standing interest in him.

Al Hilal have emerged as a potential destination for the 25-year-old and they seem to be willing to fork out a massive fee to add him to their squad. They want more stars in their ranks and Nunez is an appealing option for them.

Al Hilal also want to sign Luis Diaz

Nunez isn’t the only Liverpool star they want to sign this summer. Al Hilal are also keen on adding Luis Diaz to their squad. The Colombian international has been an integral part of Slot’s plan this season.

He has been involved in a total of 47 matches and has contributed towards 24 goals. The 28-year-old played a key role in Liverpool’s Premier League triumph. While Slot is keen to keep him, the club could consider selling if an offer of around €80 million arrives.

The funds from his sale, along with Nunez’s potential departure, could give Slot the resources needed to reshape the squad and build on the success he has had in his first season in charge.
