Aston Villa are expected to look for a new goalkeeper in the summer after the latest developments with Emiliano Martinez. The Argentine World Cup winner has been the No.1 between the sticks since his move from Arsenal in 2020, and even recently signed a new deal with the club.
However, his demeanor following the final game of the season at Villa Park on Friday night indicated that it might have been his final game at the venue. Reports have stated Aston Villa are ready to sell Martinez, with a replacement likely on the cards in the summer.
They have set sights on Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, although face plenty of competition for the Spaniard’s signature. While they view him as a top target, Aston Villa might be looking at other options to replace Martinez, for whom they reportedly have a few offers on the table.
