According to a report by Bolavip, Yuri Alberto is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Corinthians attacker. They hope to offset the cost of signing the Brazilian international by offering out-of-favour 23-year-old centre-back Luizao in a part-exchange deal.
Yuri Alberto has established himself as one of the best strikers in South America since returning to Corinthians from a loan spell with Zenit St Petersburg. The young attacker has gone from strength to strength in the last two seasons while beginning the ongoing campaign on a high.
The 24-year-old has already amassed 12 goals and one assist in 33 appearances across all competitions, making his mark in Serie A and the Copa Libertadores. Meanwhile, Alberto’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe.
Premier League clubs, in particular, are keen on signing the Brazilian international in the summer transfer window, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window. The East London outfit will aim to sweeten the deal for Corinthians by offering Luizao in the arrangement to sign Alberto.
West Ham United’s interest in Yuri Alberto is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window after their two most recent striker signings failed to stamp their authority. Niclas Fullkrug joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund last summer but has struggled with fitness issues.
The East London club’s next striker signing was Evan Ferguson, with the Republic of Ireland international arriving on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. However, the youngster has barely made his mark for West Ham in the second half of the 2024/25 season. In addition, Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are in the twilight of their careers.
So, Alberto is a viable target for West Ham, with the East London outfit eager to lower the transfer fee by offering Luizao in the deal. The 23-year-old out-of-favour centre-back has no future at the London Stadium. So, returning to Brazil may be Luizao’s best option if he joins Corinthians in the arrangement to take his compatriot to West Ham.
