Aston Villa interested in signing Loic Bade

Aston Villa are keen on acquiring the services of Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade as they look to reinforce their defence.

According to a report from Fichajes, Aston Villa have their eyes set on Loic Bade, who has been a consistent performer for Sevilla in recent seasons. Unai Emery is in desperate need of more quality at the back and the Birmingham-based club’s sporting director, Monchi, is keen on bringing the French star to England.

Bade joined the Spanish outfit at the start of 2023. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent six months down the line. The 25-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since joining Sevilla and he has established himself as a key figure in the team.

While the 2024/25 season hasn’t been that great for him on a personal level, the 2024 Olympic silver medalist still has quite a reputation in Spain. His ability to sense danger, his pace and his strong physical presence have earned him a lot of plaudits.

Monchi wants Bade at Villa

Bade has massive potential and he is certainly on the radar of quite a few top clubs. Aston Villa are one of the clubs that are interested in his signature and they are looking to get ahead of the competition by making a move in the near future.

Their sporting director, Monchi, is the one driving their interest in the 25-year-old. He played a big part in Bade’s signing during his time at Sevilla and now wants to take him to Birmingham. The Villa chief is well aware of his abilities and feels he could do wonders for Unai Emery’s team.

The Spanish manager seeks more quality and depth at the back and Monchi feels Bade could help them take the next step. While his contract at Sevilla runs until the summer of 2029, the La Liga outfit do not have the best financial situation and they would be open to his departure if a compelling offer arrives.

Both clubs are in talks and things are progressing slowly. The player seems open to a move to the Premier League and it will certainly depend on the financial side of things.
