Liverpool eager to beat Serie A clubs to Gioacchino Barranco

Liverpool are hopeful of beating Atalanta and Torino for Palermo sensation and left-back Gioacchino Barranco in the summer.

According to I Love Palermo Calcio, Liverpool are eager to beat a few Serie A teams in the pursuit of Gioacchino Barranco in the summer. The teenager who hails from Palermo has impressed many big teams with his performances for the Italian side, and a move to England could be an option.

Palermo will be hopeful of keeping their best stars, especially those talents that are coming through their academy. Gioacchino Barranco is a prime example of the club’s ability to produce massive players for the future, although the 17-year-old Italian defensive sensation already has plenty of options to choose from ahead of the summer.

Barranco’s ability to play many positions at this early stage of his development has aroused interest from the likes of Atalanta and Torino from Serie A. The top-tier duo are eager to lure the teenager into their setup, as these are two teams always on the lookout for top young talents to improve their squads.

However, the big challenge for the Serie A duo comes in the form of Liverpool, who are keen on the 17-year-old Italian defensive sensation. Barranco is certainly not seen as a starter or even for the first-team plans, but the Merseysiders are eager to revamp the position for the future.

Liverpool are close to signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, as the Hungarian international is seen as the new first-choice left-back ahead of the new season. However, they are not expected to phase out both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas in the same window, as keeping one of those and adding someone like Barranco will represent good planning for the future.

Will Liverpool sign Giocchino Barranco?

Palermo will not be eager to lose Barranco in the summer, although with a host of big teams as well as Liverpool angling for a move, a departure might seem likely. Whether the 17-year-old Italian defensive sensation moves to England remains the question, as his immediate choice might be to come through with an Italian side.

Liverpool have the pedigree and reputation to lure some of the top talents from around, and Barranco will certainly look at their Premier League win to be tempted by the prospect. Any move will depend on what the Merseysiders will offer in the process of luring the teenager, as the offers from Atalanta and Torino will also be studied by the player’s camp.
