The South American defender is also a target for Bournemouth, and his contract with the Serie A club has a release clause worth €28 million. However, Aston Villa and Bournemouth do not want to cough up €28 million to sign Lucumi from Bologna, and they have prepared offers lower than that sum.
Jhon Lucumi has established himself as one of the most dependable defenders in Serie A since joining Bologna from KRC Genk in August 2022. A native of Cali, the 26-year-old defender spent his formative years in his home town and graduated from the youth division at Deportivo Cali.
The Colombian international has come leaps and bounds during his spell with Bologna, turning out over 100 times thus far for the Serie A club while chipping in with one goal and three assists.
