Bradley Barcola is one of the best young attackers in Ligue 1, and PSG have no desire to sell him as per Graeme Bailey on TBR Football. The Frenchman has managed 41 goal contributions in teh 2024/25 season, and he has helped his side win the Ligue 1 title and the UEFA Champions League.
Losing a player of his quality would be devastating for any club. Barcola is still only 22, and he will only improve further. He has all the tools to develop into a future star. PSG have decided not to sell the player, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal and Liverpool decide to move on to other options now.
PSG’s stance will be a huge blow for Arsenal and Liverpool. The two Premier League clubs need more creativity and goals in the wide areas, and the 22-year-old would have been the ideal fit for both clubs.
There is no doubt that the Frenchman would have improved both teams going forward. Arsenal need an upgrade on their current options. Gabriel Martinelli had a mediocre end product in the 2024/25 season, and Leandro Trossard is more suited to the role of a squad player.
The Gunners will be hoping to win the Premier League title and the Champions League next term. They need elite players to compete with clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in a reliable attacker who will be able to slot into multiple attacking roles and contribute with goals and assists.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, they need upgrades on players like Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa this summer. Both players were quite poor in the 2024/25 season. In addition to that, Diogo Jota has struggled with persistent injury problems.
Signing a dynamic attacker who is capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles will be a priority for Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in someone who can support the likes of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in the final third.
