Eberechi Eze very keen on Tottenham move as Spurs line up move

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham have received a boost in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze as the Crystal Palace star is keen on joining them.

Tottenham are keen on reinforcing their attack ahead of next season. While they have already made Mathys Tel’s move permanent, new boss Thomas Frank seeks more quality in the final third, and he is keen on having Eberechi Eze at his disposal.

Spurs have a long-standing interest in the Crystal Palace star, and they have reignited their pursuit of his signature. According to a report from TBR, the North London club have received a boost as the player is keen on making the switch.

Eze has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances for Crystal Palace. He is widely regarded as one of the best-attacking midfielders in the Premier League, and of late, he has been a constant feature in the English national team.

The 26-year-old’s consistent performances have put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs. Tottenham are one of the clubs that have been closely monitoring him for well over a year. They were interested in signing him last summer but didn’t make a move.

Spurs gearing up to make an offer

However, a report from The Standard suggests, Spurs are prepared to knock on the Eagles’ door with a formal offer in the near future. While their priority is to strengthen the flanks, Thomas Frank is pushing to sign Eze, who can provide depth outwide and add creativity in a more central role.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo are on their wishlist, but Eze, who has a release clause worth £68 million (£60m plus £8m in performance-based add-ons), could actually prove to be the cheapest of the lot.

The earlier report suggests the Eagles are ready to accept payments in instalments (£25-£30 million up front, with the remaining in two instalments) as long as Spurs are ready to pay a fee just over the clause.

While the player’s camp has held talks with multiple clubs, the most work has gone towards a move to Tottenham as Eze prefers joining Thomas Frank’s team.

The North London club are showing great desire to sign him and are ready to make an offer in the near future. With Eze keen on joining Spurs, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.
