Tottenham agree deal to sign Morgan Gibbs-White

Nottingham Forest mainstay Morgan Gibbs-White is all set to join Tottenham Hotspur ahead of next season, medical scheduled.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Morgan Gibbs-White will soon complete a move to Tottenham as they have an agreement in place to sign the English international. He is set to undergo his medical as a new Spurs player within the next 24 hours.

Gibbs-White made a name for himself at Wolves before joining Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022. He not only established himself as a mainstay in the team, but the 25-year-old also made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances.

Last season, the English attacking midfielder scored seven goals and bagged 10 assists in his 34 league outings. On the back of his heroics, multiple top clubs wanted to lure him away from Nottingham. While the Tricky Trees were reluctant to sell, he had a £60 million release clause in his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027.

Tottenham complete Gibbs-White signing

Tottenham are one of the many clubs that showcased interest in the 25-year-old. Thomas Frank wants more creativity in midfield, and the club felt Gibbs-White could do wonders for them. As a result, they have been working on a potential transfer for weeks.

Not only can he compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI, but the former Wolves star can even feature on the flanks when needed. Having secured a spot in next season’s Champions League after winning the Europa League, Spurs can certainly attract some top talent.

While Manchester City were also keen on his signature and had reportedly agreed on personal terms with the English international, Frank’s team have managed to beat the competition. After getting the green light from the player, the North London club knocked on the Tricky Trees’ door today.

They have informed them that they will be triggering his £60 million release clause. Everything is now in place for the transfer to go through. Spurs have already booked a medical, and the 25-year-old will officially be a new Tottenham player within the next 24 hours.
