Tottenham, Crystal Palace, West Ham United make approach for Koni De Winter

Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Belgian international Koni De Winter from Juventus this summer.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Koni De Winter has garnered a market in the Premier League heading into the summer transfer window. Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are vying for the Genoa defender’s signature and have submitted enquiries for him. Meanwhile, the Serie A club will demand around €25-30 million to part ways with the Belgian international.

Koni De Winter and his soaring stock

Koni De Winter has been one of the most promising young centre-backs in Serie A since joining Genoa from Juventus. A native of Antwerp, the promising defender spent most of his formative years in Belgium but graduated from the youth division at Juventus after joining the Bianconeri in July 2018.

However, the 22-year-old could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Juventus and has risen in prominence during his spell with Genoa. De Winter has turned out over 50 times across his loan and permanent spells with Il Grifone while chipping in with three goals and one assist. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, including Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United.

London calling?

Crystal Palace will dip into the market for a centre-back in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Marc Guehi’s long-term future. With the English international a target for several Premier League bigwigs, the Eagles need a replacement. So, several candidates, including Jhon Lucumi, are on Crystal Palace’s radar, with De Winter also a viable target.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Koni De Winter is understandable. While Kevin Danso will complete a permanent move to the North London club in the summer transfer window, Cristian Romero faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So, the Belgian international is an option worth considering for the Lilywhites.

As for West Ham United, Jean-Clair Todibo has struggled to make his mark this season. So, the Hammers will likely dip their toes into the market for a centre-back, with De Winter emerging as a viable target. The three London clubs have submitted an enquiry to sign the Genoa defender.

Meanwhile, the Serie A club will demand around €25-30 million to part ways with the 22-year-old Belgian international in the summer transfer window. The valuation should pose no problems for Crystal Palace, Tottenham, and West Ham. So, it will be interesting to see where the Genoa centre-back lands in the coming months.
