Al-Hilal plotting £80 million offer for Bruno Fernandes

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal are willing to table an offer worth £80 million to sign Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes.

According to a report from Football Insider, Al-Hilal are keen on acquiring the services of Bruno Fernandes. The Saudi giants are well aware of Manchester United’s financial struggles and they are looking to make the most out of it by putting forward a mouth-watering offer to sign their skipper this summer.

After making a name for himself at Sporting CP, Fernandes joined United at the start of 2020 for big money. He has only gone from strength to strength over the years and has been one of their standout performers.

While United have struggled throughout the 2024/25 campaign as they are 16th in the league and recently lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, their skipper has still had an outstanding season as he has contributed towards 38 goals (19 goals, 19 assists) in his 56 outings.

His contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2027 and there is an option to extend it for another 12 months. While Fernandes is quite happy at the club, there is well-known interest in him from the Middle East.

Al-Hilal pushing to sign Fernandes

Multiple Saudi Pro League clubs want to sign the 30-year-old and Al-Hilal have already started making moves as they look to strike a deal with United. They are preparing an offer worth £80 million to try and persuade the Manchester-based giants to cash in on their skipper.

United have massive financial concerns, which has resulted in Sir Jim Ratcliffe making various cost-cutting decisions at Old Trafford. Al-Hilal want to make the most out of the situation and they feel a massive offer could tempt them to sell.

With the club looking to rebuild this summer, £80 million could certainly help their cause. But they consider Fernandes an integral part of their plans going forward and have no intentions of letting him leave. Amorim is a massive admirer of the 30-year-old and wants him around at all costs.

The Portuguese manager has often suggested that Fernandes is not for sale. While United will certainly part ways with quite a few of their stars as they look to raise funds to reshape Amorim’s squad, they are unlikely to let go of their captain irrespective of the offer on the table.
