Manchester United prioritise selling Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho this summer

Manchester United will reportedly prioritise cashing in on Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Manchester Evening News, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony do not have a long-term future at Manchester United. The Red Devils will not reintegrate the trio into the first-team squad ahead of the 2025/26 season and plan to prioritise their departures in the summer transfer window. In addition, they hope to secure nearly £100 million from selling them.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony have resurrected their stuttering careers to some degree since leaving Manchester United at some point in the last 12 months. Sancho joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal last summer, and he has amassed four goals and ten assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Antony has been exceptional for Real Betis in the second half of the 2024/25 season, amassing eight goals and five assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. The Brazilian international has been instrumental in helping Real Betis reach the UEFA Europa Conference League final, where Los Verdiblancos will take on Chelsea.

As for Rashford, the English international has come leaps and bounds since joining Aston Villa from Manchester United. The academy graduate has chipped in with four goals and six assists in 17 appearances across all competitions thus far. However, that has not compelled the Red Devils to consider reintegrating him into the first-team squad.

Manchester United’s stance on the futures of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony make sense. Selling Rashford will help the Red Devils secure a “pure profit”, thus enabling them to balance their books and fund moves in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Sancho has no love lost for Manchester United and will never work at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils hope Chelsea will trigger the purchase obligation of £25 million instead of paying £5 million to send him back to Old Trafford. As for Antony, while the Brazilian has been the most impressive of the trio, he has struggled to stamp his authority in the Premier League. So, leaving Manchester United on a permanent deal makes sense amid Real Betis’s eagerness to keep him.

The Red Devils hope to bag nearly £100 million from the triple sale, valuing Rashford at £40 million and Antony at £32.5 million. So, it will be interesting to see if the trio’s permanent departures can help Manchester United as they prioritise selling them in the summer transfer window.
