AC Milan line up surprise move for Amad Diallo

AC Milan will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo from Manc hester United in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Amad Diallo is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The struggling Serie A giants are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Manchester United fan favourite. However, the Red Devils will unlikely consider parting ways with the Ivory Coast international in the coming months.

The gradual rise of Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo has come leaps and bounds since joining Manchester United from Atalanta in January 2021. A native of Abidjan, the African attacker spent most of his formative years in Italy after leaving his homeland and graduating from the youth division at Atalanta BC.

The 22-year-old had to bide his time before establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at Manchester United. A successful loan spell with Sunderland helped the young playmaker turn things around, although he has enjoyed his breakthrough under Ruben Amorim’s tutelage.

Amad has been a rare standout performer for Manchester United this season, contributing to 19 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net ten times and providing nine assists. Meanwhile, the Ivory Coast international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with his exploits for his club and country.

What next?

Recent reports have linked Amad Diallo with Real Madrid. However, AC Milan will aim to beat the competition to the Ivorian attacker’s signature in the summer transfer window as they look to return to the UEFA Champions League after a horrendous 2024/25 campaign. However, convincing Manchester United to cash in on the youngster will be a tall order.

AC Milan’s interest in the African attacker is understandable, considering Joao Felix has failed to make his mark since arriving from Chelsea in the winter transfer window. So, several candidates, including Jack Grealish, have emerged on the Serie A club’s radar, with the Manchester United fan favourite also a viable target.

Manchester United will unlikely entertain bids to part ways with the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international in the summer transfer window. So, AC Milan might have to look elsewhere for an offensive reinforcement.
