According to a report from Tutto Atalanta, Manchester United are interested in the services of Krasnodar’s Eduard Spertsyan, who has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances in the Russian Premier League. He finds himself on the wishlist of multiple top clubs from across Europe, and the Red Devils are ready to rival them for his signature this summer.
Spertsyan has been a part of the Krasnodar setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2021. The Armenian international has gone on to establish himself as a key figure in their team, and he led them to the league title in the recently concluded season.
He was involved in a total of 28 games and ended up contributing towards 18 goals (11 goals, 7 assists). While the majority of his appearances came as a number ten, he even featured on the flanks when needed.
He is set to enter the final year of his contract at the Russian club, and his future looks very uncertain amidst interest from across Europe. Atalanta, Ajax, PSG and Brentford are all keen on the 25-year-old and Manchester United are willing to rival them.
Spertsyan has built a strong reputation for his creativity, goal-scoring ability, and effectiveness from set pieces. Despite him having just a year left on his deal, Krasnodar won’t let him leave on the cheap. They will look for around €25 million, and negotiations could prove to be very complicated.
But given the number of clubs that are keen on signing him, there are high chances of him taking the next step this summer. The Dutch club reportedly have an advantage in their pursuit, even though the reason hasn’t been made public yet.
Meanwhile, United are closely monitoring him along with the likes of PSG and Brentford. The Red Devils are looking at him as someone who can add more creativity and provide support to skipper Bruno Fernandes in the number ten role.
He can even feature on the flanks, which could add much-needed depth to Ruben Amorim’s team. While they are ready to rival other clubs, it will be interesting to see if they do make a formal offer in the coming days, as negotiations with Krasnodar certainly won’t be easy.
