Oleksandr Zinchenko camp working on deal to join AC Milan

AC Milan will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Ukrainian international Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Oleksandr Zinchenko is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants are eager to bolster their defensive unit by signing a left-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Arsenal utility man has emerged as a target for the Rossoneri.

However, the Radomyshl native’s wages are an issue for AC Milan, and the Serie A giants need to negotiate the salary with him. Meanwhile, Zinchenko’s representatives are working on the deal to take him to AC Milan, and a pay cut may be on the cards for the Arsenal utility man.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and his Arsenal rollercoaster

Oleksandr Zinchenko has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Arsenal from Manchester City in a deal worth £30 million in July 2022. While the 28-year-old versatile footballer enjoyed an excellent debut season with Arsenal, he has fallen in the pecking order since then. The player struggled for game time in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Ukrainian international managed only 761 minutes of game time across 23 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with one goal and one assist. Meanwhile, Zinchenko’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. AC Milan will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Serie A move on the horizon?

AC Milan’s interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko is understandable. The Rossoneri will soon part ways with Theo Hernandez, with the French international closing in on joining Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal this summer. So, AC Milan must sign a left-back, with the Arsenal utility man emerging as a viable target.

However, Zinchenko’s wages pose a problem for AC Milan, and the player may need to take a pay cut to move to San Siro in the summer transfer window. So, the Arsenal utility man’s representatives are working on the deal to take him to San Siro.

The report has claimed that Zinchenko is “open to the Rossoneri solution”. So, it will be interesting to see how the negotiations between the two parties progress in the coming weeks, as the 28-year-old Ukrainian international closes in on leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
