According to a report from Foot Mercato, Paris FC have made contact with soon-to-be free agent Chancel Mbemba (30) as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their first season back in the top flight of French football after a 46-year absence.
The centre-back is approaching the end of his contract at Olympique de Marseille, which finishes at the end of this month. Following a falling out with the club over the 2024 summer transfer window, Mbemba has not played for Les Phocéens. The Congo international was absent for the entire season and was not included in a single match-day squad.
Paris can reportedly offer the former Newcastle United player “a very comfortable salary,” but he is taking his time over his next move. Mbemba is in no rush to sign a new contract, and will be looking at various options, in Europe and also in the Middle East, where he has had former interest.
