According to Fichajes, Karim Adeyemi is the latest name to emerge on Arsenal’s radar for the wide attacking role. The Gunners are scouring the market for a viable option while being linked with several high-profile names including two key stars from the Premier League.
Arsenal are prioritising a new winger in the summer, with the primary focus on strengthening the left side of the front three. Mikel Arteta currently has Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on that wing, with the duo sharing plenty of minutes last season without either one of them being consistent.
Hence, Arteta is keen to bolster his ranks on that side, with several high-profile players already being linked. Karim Adeyemi becomes the latest to be added to that queue, as Borussia Dortmund could be open to accepting the right offer from suitors.
Arsenal are not alone in the mix, as Newcastle United have also considered the German attacker. Adeyemi himself had an inconsistent season despite boasting 21 goals and assists across all competitions for Dortmund. There’s no clarity on how much the German giants would want for the versatile attacker who does play on the right wing predominantly but could operate on the left side too.
Arsenal view Rodrygo Goes as their priority target for the position, although the Brazilian is yet to decide whether to leave Real Madrid or not. Even then, he’s not made it clear that Arsenal are his preferred destination, as there’s a huge possibility for the potential deal to drag into the latter stages of the window. Hence, the idea of Adeyemi might seem appealing, although he might not be their absolute priority.
Arteta is not particularly looking at a touchline winger on the left-hand side and remains open to adding players of a different profile. They were recently linked with Eberechi Eze, with suggestions of an offer rife in reports across the British media.
Morgan Rogers is another target on their radar, as the Aston Villa star’s versatility to play across all positions behind the striker makes him a big option. Nico Williams was also on their list, but the Spaniard is now leaning towards joining Barcelona so he’s no longer an option. As the Gunners are expected to sign one player at least on the left-hand side, it will be interesting to watch whether that is Adeyemi or someone else.
