Manchester United considering Tolu Arokodare swoop

Tolu Arokodare is now an option that Manchester United are ready to explore in their bid to land a prolific striker this summer.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Manchester United have added Tolu Arokodare to their list of striker targets following the Nigerian attacker’s prolific season in Belgium. The Red Devils remain eager to land a prolific target man in this window amid links to several names.

Manchester United made an early move to wrap up their first summer signing in Matheus Cunha and remain in concrete talks for Bryan Mbeumo. Other areas of the team need strengthening, but Ruben Amorim seems intent on revamping his front three options, meaning a striker is also on the cards.

Signing a new striker seems imperative, as Rasmus Hojlund remains linked with Inter Milan and Manchester United are ready to cut their losses on the Danish star after two ineffective seasons. They did fail in the pursuit of Liam Delap, who chose Chelsea over the Red Devils, as more names are being linked.

Victor Osimhen has been mentioned several times, while Fiorentina’s Moise Kean also seems like an option. Whether those names are achievable remains the question, as there are links to Ollie Watkins too, which appears more like a fail-safe option for Manchester United.

Viktor Gyokeres was also mentioned as a big target owing to his connection with former boss Amorim, although Arsenal are primed to make an offer and remain well in front for the Swede. There is a new name on Manchester United’s shortlist, with Tolu Arokodare, Genk’s Nigerian striker appearing on their radar.

Manchester United considering Tolu Arokodare

Arokodare has had a tremendous season with Genk, where he finished the season with 31 goal contributions to finish the Belgian Pro League as the top scorer. His form and profile do suit Manchester United, as the club are now considering him as an option for the No.9 role.

Whether Tolu Arokodare is the right option remains to be seen, although he could be seen as a cost-effective idea compared to the other names on their list. Manchester United observers have had good feedback on his performances, as Arokodare could be one to keep an eye on as this seems like an under-the-radar move.
