According to TBR, RB Leipzig could place themselves as an interesting suitor for the signing of Harvey Elliott. Former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could drive the charge for the Bundesliga giants to make their play for the 22-year-old Liverpool prodigy, who they view as a replacement for Xavi Simons.
Harvey Elliott has ensured the world has stood up and taken notice of his talent as he continues to shine for the England U-21s at the U-21 Euros. At the time of writing, the 22-year-old Liverpool prodigy has scored in the Final, and should his country go on to win the tournament, he is the favourite for the competition’s MVP.
On the transfer playground, there are considerable doubts about Elliott’s immediate future at Liverpool, particularly after the arrival of Florian Wirtz. The 22-year-old played only 360 minutes in the Premier League last season, which has cast doubts over his time at the club.
There are many teams interested, with Brighton making their play for the attacking midfielder, while others like Fulham and Aston Villa have also kept tabs. Chelsea are keen on Elliott too, as they continue on their drive to bring the best young profiles from around.
Liverpool are not in a rush to sell, although they might be open to the idea of his departure. Elliott will enter the final two years of his deal at the club, which could see them consider offers coming in for the attacking midfielder. The Merseysiders are reportedly demanding at least £40 million or even more to part ways with the player, as some interested parties might agree to those terms.
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, now the Head of Global Football at Red Bull, wants to raid his old club for Elliott and push for his signature for RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga giants are set for a few key departures including Newcastle United-linked Xavi Simons, as they view Elliott as his replacement.
The club might be open to paying Liverpool the £40 million or so required to sign Elliott and allow him the chance to revive his game in Germany. However, in light of the massive interest from the Premier League, it’s a decision for the 22-year-old Liverpool prodigy to make on whether to stay put in England or move abroad for a different experience, as Klopp may play a key role if Leipzig were to push hard.
