Aston Villa front-runners to sign Yann Bisseck

Aston Villa will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old German defender Yann Bisseck from Serie A club Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Tuttosport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Yann Bisseck is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Inter Milan defender has emerged as a target for the West Midlands outfit.

The Serie A giants are keen on recouping around €30-35 million from Bisseck’s sale to “ensure a profit on the German this summer”. It is unclear if Aston Villa will match Inter Milan’s asking price, although with the Nerazzurri in no rush to sell, a deal may stretch until the final weeks of the window.

Yann Bisseck has been one of the best young defensive prospects in Serie A since joining Inter Milan from Aarhus GF in July 2023. While the 24-year-old has been in and out of the starting lineup in the last two years, he has shown flashes of brilliance during his spell with the Nerazzurri.

The German international has turned out over 50 times thus far for Inter Milan while chipping in with five goals and five assists. Meanwhile, Bisseck’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing the Inter Milan defender, with Aston Villa among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa’s interest in Yann Bisseck is understandable. The Villans are scouring the market for a centre-back this summer after Axel Disasi returned to Chelsea following a loan spell in the second half of the 2024/25 season. In addition, Tyrone Mings is on the wrong side of 30 and has struggled with fitness issues in the last two years.

So, several candidates, including Enzo Boyomo, have emerged on Aston Villa’s radar, with Bisseck also a viable target. However, it is unclear if the West Midlands outfit will meet Inter Milan’s asking price, with the Nerazzurri keen on recouping €30-35 million from his sale this summer.

The Serie A giants are “in no rush to sell, having once seen Bisseck as the man to build their defence around”.
