Manchester United enter Moise Kean chase

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United have entered the race for the signature of Fiorentina attacking sensation Moise Kean.

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Manchester United are keen on reinforcing their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season, and they have their eyes on Moise Kean. While they do have other names on their shortlist, the Red Devils have now entered the race for the signature of the Fiorentina striker.

Kean was a part of the Juventus youth setup back in the day. While he did go up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team back in 2017, things did not really work out for him at the Turin-based club despite a few impressive loan spells.

Kean’s revival at Fiorentina

The resurgent Italian international eventually parted ways with Juventus to join Everton in 2019. The 25-year-old even had a loan spell at PSG. While he had massive potential, things were not clicking for him. But the move to Fiorentina last summer seems to have given him the ideal conditions to showcase his true potential.

Kean has been on fire since joining La Viola. The Italian international has been involved in a total of 41 matches and has contributed towards 26 goals. His Serie A numbers have been exceptional: 17 goals, 3 assists, 3.1 shots per game, and an 81% pass accuracy in the final third.

Manchester United add Moise Kean to their shortlist

Kean’s performances have attracted a lot of interest from across Europe, and Manchester United are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the 25-year-old. The Red Devils will prioritise reinforcing their attack this summer.

While the Red DEvils already have a few top names on their wishlist, they have added Moise Kean to that list of targets. They consider him an ideal fit for Amorim’s system and negotiations for his signature could be much easier than for some of their other targets.

Fiorentina secured his services for €13 million and his contract runs until the summer of 2029. But there is a €50 million release clause which could lead to his departure. However, Manchester United will have a race against time as his clause will only be valid from July 1st to 15th.

If the Red Devils win the Europa League and secure UEFA Champions League football, they could target someone like Viktor Gyokeres. If not, Moise Kean could be a more realistic alternative, a player who fits Amorim’s system well with his ability to drop deep, link play, run in behind, and offer a strong physical presence.
