West Ham United inch closer to Baris Alper Yilmaz capture

Baris Alper Yilmaz is reportedly closing in on joining West Ham United from Galatasaray this summer, with the Turkish club demanding €30-35 million to part ways with him.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Sezgin Gelmez via Haber Sarikirmizi, Baris Alper Yilmaz is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the summer transfer window. So, the Galatasaray forward has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.

Meanwhile, the report has claimed that Galatasaray will demand around €30-35 million to part ways with the Turk in the summer transfer window. In addition, “Yılmaz’s transfer to West Ham is on the table”, suggesting an agreement may be on the cards between the two clubs.

Baris Alper Yilmaz and his Galatasaray journey so far

Baris Alper Yilmaz has come leaps and bounds since joining Galatasaray from Ankara Keciorengucu in July 2021. A native of Rize, the 24-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last four years, although his output can improve.

Nevertheless, the Turkish international has contributed to 20 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net 14 times and providing six assists. Meanwhile, Yilmaz’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, including West Ham United.

London calling?

Baris Alper Yilmaz has been on West Ham United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, considering the Hammers need a productive attacker in the final third. In addition, they are in a spot of bother over the long-term futures of Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.

So, Yilmaz has emerged as a viable target for West Ham, with the East London club inching closer to securing his services in the summer transfer window. However, the 24-year-old Turk will cost a sizeable sum, with Galatasaray demanding around €30-35 million to part ways with him.

West Ham should have the funds to afford a deal worth €30-35 million to sign Yilmaz, especially if they cash in on Kudus in the summer transfer window. However, the Hammers face stiff competition from other Premier League clubs for the Turkish international. So, they must intensify their efforts to secure his services.
