Jamie Vardy offered to Manchester United over a Bosman move

Intermediaries have reportedly offered 38-year-old English striker Jamie Vardy to Manchester United as the Red Devils continue their search for a new striker this summer.

According to a report by The Sun, Manchester United will have the opportunity to sign Jamie Vardy in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by landing a striker. So, the 38-year-old former Leicester City captain may be an option for the struggling Premier League giants.

However, Vardy will not be the only option for Manchester United, with intermediaries also offering Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Callum Wilson to them. All three English strikers are free agents, with Calvert-Lewin leaving Everton and Wilson ending his time with Newcastle United.

Jamie Vardy has been one of the best strikers in his generation and one of the unlikeliest success stories in football. The Sheffield native began his professional career outside the spotlight and did not rise in prominence until he joined Leicester City from Fleetwood Town in July 2012, having also played non-league football for some time.

However, the 38-year-old Englishman spent 13 years with Leicester City and departed from the King Power Stadium as the Foxes’ greatest-ever player and their all-time top scorer. While Vardy’s time at Leicester City has ended, he has not hung up his boots. A return to the Premier League may be on the cards for the Englishman, with intermediaries offering him to Manchester United.

Manchester United will dip into the market for a striker in the summer transfer window after Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund failed to be prolific in front of the goal.
