Arsenal tracking Lucien Agoume

Arsenal are tracking Lucien Agoume as a midfield target as there are uncertainties surrounding Thomas Partey’s future.

According to the Daily Mail, Lucien Agoume is firmly on Arsenal’s radar ahead of the summer, as they could view the midfielder as a replacement for Thoams Partey. The Sevilla star has been performing well enough for the Gunners to keep him on their list.

Arsenal have a lot of work to do in the transfer market, with several new signings are being planned in the background. The Gunners are primarily looking to improve their front line with a new striker and left-winger expected to arrive in this window.

They also have to focus on their midfield setup following the departure of Jorginho on a free transfer with the Italian subsequently joining Flamengo. Arsenal have already agreed a deal for Martin Zubimendi, who could be seen as the Italiun’s replacement. There are now concerns over the future of Thomas Partey, although Arsenal are confident of agreeing a new deal with the Ghanaian star.

partey’s contract will expire on June 30, with reports stating the club have already proposed a new deal for the midfielder. While initial signs pointed towards a positive conclusion between all parties, however, in the last few days some doubts have crept in.

Barcelona are tracking Partey ahead of a Bosman move, and there’s a big chance he could leave the Gunners for a new project. Mikel Arteta wants to keep hold of the Ghanaian, although, in the scenario of his departure, the club have a target in mind to replace Partey.

Lucien Agoume is on Arsenal’s radar

Sevilla star Lucien Agoume has been one of their best performers over the last season or so, which had brought Manchester United in with an interest back in January. Arsenal have now added him to their list of potential Partey replacements, as Sevilla might consider a good enough offer.

The 23-year-old holding midfielder’s qualities are similar to that of Partey’s which could make the club consider an approach should the Ghanaian definitively decide to leave. The Cameroonian is not expected to cost an exorbitant sum, which would end up suiting the north Londoners.
