According to a report by Football Insider, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey face an uncertain future at Aston Villa, coming into the summer transfer window. However, Unai Emery does not want the West Midlands club to part ways with the English midfield duo, and the Villans are “desperate to keep hold” of them beyond this summer.
Morgan Rogers has seen his stock skyrocket since joining Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in February 2024. The Englishman did not take long to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Villa Park, and he was exceptional in the 2024/25 campaign.
The 22-year-old has turned out over 50 times thus far for Aston Villa while chipping in with 17 goals and 16 assists. On the other hand, Jacob Ramsey has been with the West Midlands club since 2001, joining the Villans’ academy as a six-year-old. Since then, the youngster has come leaps and bounds, passing through the ranks in the youth division before breaking into the first-team squad.
The English midfield prospect has turned out over 150 times thus far for Aston Villa while chipping in with 17 goals and 19 assists. However, Ramsey has been in and out of the starting lineup in the last two seasons, although Unai Emery continues to rate him highly. Meanwhile, recent reports have linked the two Aston Villa youngsters with a move away from Villa Park.
Unai Emery does not want Aston Villa to part ways with Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey in the summer transfer window. The former, in particular, is a target for several Premier League bigwigs, with recent reports linking him with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. That is hardly surprising, considering the young playmaker’s exceptional performances for Aston Villa.
As for Ramsey, the 24-year-old Englishman’s versatility makes him an appealing target for prospective suitors, considering he can play in the middle of the park and on the flanks. With Aston Villa struggling on the PSR front, selling a homegrown talent can be attractive.
However, the Villans are “desperate to keep hold of” Rogers and Ramsey beyond the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the English duo amid Emery’s desire to keep them at Aston Villa.
